River Haus in the Pines presents “An Intimate Acoustic Conversation with LeRoy Bell.”

We met LeRoy, along with his “only friends” bass player, Terry Morgan and drummer,  Davis Martin last year when they played our house in July. Their music has become part of our daily life since then. They joined us in Seattle for the Cystic Fibrosis Gala this past November where they rocked the ballroom and helped us raise several thousand dollars to cure  Cystic Fibrosis. Their show at the Triple Door on New Year’s Eve was a blast! We love the opportunity to  partner with LeRoy and we are thrilled that he is returning to River Haus in the Pines! Our rooms will be occupied as part of our donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, however we will have 30 tickets available for purchase. Your $35 ticket includes dessert. As half of the youthful songwriting team Bell & James, Casey James and LeRoy Bell are the authors of Elton John’s Grammy-nominated 1979 Top Ten hit, “Mama Can’t Buy You Love,” and Elton’s 2004 #1 British single “Are You Ready For Love”. For LeRoy writing became the main focus allowing him to collaborate with legendary songwriter/producer Thom Bell (his uncle) and Casey James penning songs for The Spinners, The OJays, Rita Marley, The Temptations, Johnny Mathis, Phyllis Hyman and many more. Only recently has LeRoy surfaced as the singer/songwriter he is today. Gaining early acceptance and warm reception, he has recently performed with B.B. King, Al Green, Taj Mahal, Jackie Green, Keb Mo, LeAnn Rimes, The Temptations, The O’Jays, Mavis Staples, Colin Hay, Leon Russell, Sonny Landreth, Kenny Loggins, The Young Dubliners and others.

His first solo release “SPENDING TIME ” (2003) gained critical acclaim for the unique “acoustic soul” sound. Bell speaks through his personal observations and musical lyricism. Written by LeRoy Bell, the sonic stratification of multiple guitars, strings, percussion and bass, provide the lush layers and textures that allow Bell’s earthy, soulful voice to whisper and soar with emotion.

“A CHANGE IS COMING” is LeRoy Bell’s fourth solo release and represents a major leap for the singer/songwriter. Not only has he grown as a touring artist, but the experience has given his music an edge that places him into a league of performers creating a sound that crosses many demographics. The songs were born from LeRoy Bell’s multiple perspectives of life. Taking a cue from his roots, the soul and R&B styles incorporated into “Change” plays out on the contemporary musical field with an optimistic perspective in these trying times. “A CHANGE IS COMING” is heartfelt, honest and much needed in a world of too many uncertainties to count.
